Combining sleek curves, solid professional-level build-quality, attention-grabbing hardware and ferocious tone, the EC-1000 is a force to be reckoned with. Constructed from solid mahogany, the body is responsible for this guitar's monster sound. The densely packed tonewood provides punishing lows to weighty mids that could knock a person off their feet. The crisp set maple neck and rosewood fingerboard rounds out this clout nicely. Between the neck and fingerboard there is enough high-mid to high end sparkle to prevent notes becoming muddy or over-saturated by the powerful low end. Instead the EC-1000 delivers the perfect mix of raw power and sublime note-articulation. Not only that but the set-neck gives the strings a generous length along which to resonate, which transfers into much longer sustain so notes ring out beautifully. Two active EMG humbuckers, an EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 60 in the neck position, give you tone that is perfectly suited to rock and metal, amongst other genres. The ESP LTD EC-1000 is not for the faint-hearted as the combination of tonewoods and the active EMG pickups means that this guitar roars.
